In 2006, Grant Staples was a mechanical engineer mixing coatings and handling chemicals. He was tired of destroying his bare hands, but the only other option was latex medical gloves that had no business being in a workshop.
He looked around, every tradesman he knew had the same problem.
So, Grant got to work. He spent a year testing hundreds of formulas to make a product the trades industry had desperately needed for decades.
The result was TGC® Black — the first tough black nitrile glove in Australia and New Zealand.
It completely changed the industry. TGC® Black became the best-selling industrial nitrile glove in Australia and New Zealand and earned the trust of the Australian Defence Forces. The Glove Company grew from there.
